Fixed-Fee Support
Executors and trustees often face rising pressure, unclear expectations, and escalating conflict. Traditional legal representation can unintentionally increase friction through reactive correspondence and open-ended hourly billing.
Human Law provides fixed-fee legal support designed to stabilise the administration, protect your personal position, and maintain predictable movement without escalation. All support is delivered through the Human Law Structured Method.
Tier 1 — Fixed-Fee Legal Advice Meeting
Fee: £395 + VAT
The compulsory entry point into the method. A remote consultation with a senior solicitor (via secure MS Teams) providing clear guidance on:
- your executor duties and statutory obligations
- where you may be personally exposed
- the pressures affecting the administration
- your safe, non-escalatory next steps
Purpose: To stabilise your position and determine whether further support is required.
Outcome: A clear decision on whether Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4, or no further intervention is appropriate.
Tier 1 is not “Phase 1.” It is a senior clarity session that sets the correct pathway.
Tier 2 — Written Legal Diagnostic (Snapshot)
Fee Range: £1,500 to £3,500 + VAT
(Quoted upfront during Tier 1)
An optional module providing a detailed senior solicitor diagnostic of the estate. It explains:
- where pressure is forming
- where duties are being distorted
- where progress has stalled
- where you may be exposed
- what is stable and what is unstable
Fee drivers: Volume of correspondence, asset complexity, and number of parties involved.
Tier 3 — Legal Resolution Plan (Structured Exit)
Fee Range: £2,500 to £5,500 + VAT
(Quoted upfront based on complexity)
A solicitor-written plan converting the Snapshot into a clear, step-by-step route to safe completion. It provides:
- legally aligned pathways and safe options
- boundary reinforcement
- guidance on responding to pressure
- safe, objective wording for your communications
- a predictable sequence for progress
Fee drivers: Level of external pressure and volume of tailored communication required.
Tier 4 — Monthly Legal Guidance
Fee: £450/month + VAT
Strictly capped at 1.5 hours of senior solicitor time per month
Ongoing oversight for executors managing longer administrations. Provides:
- maintain boundaries
- review key incoming correspondence to identify emerging risks
- keep communication steady and prevent escalation
- provide safe, objective wording for your direct communication
If monthly needs exceed the 1.5-hour cap, additional work is quoted separately.
Strict Non-Representation Boundaries
To maintain predictability and protect the estate pool, Human Law enforces clear boundaries:
- We do not manage litigation or conduct court proceedings.
- We do not draft contentious pleadings or adversarial correspondence.
- We do not act for beneficiaries or litigants.
- We do not take over conveyancing or routine probate administration.
Regulatory & Disbursement Notice
Human Law operates strictly as an unbundled advisory practice. We do not hold client money, maintain a client account, or process disbursements.
Any required transactional fees (Probate Registry fees, Land Registry searches, bankruptcy searches, etc.) must be paid directly by the executor or through your primary probate firm.
All fees listed are exclusive of VAT at the prevailing UK rate (20%).
