With the likely forthcoming referendum on EU membership what to me is clear is that if we did leave the European Union it would be inevitable that there would be a decline in employment law rights. This is because much of the employment law legislation and case law has derived from Europe.
I appreciate that a Labour Party if elected would be more likely to pursue a worker type agenda for new legislation but even this would still be unable to provide the employment law rights which have come from the European legislators and courts.
Yesterday I saw the head of the TUC being interviewed together with a Conservative politician and it is quite clear that democracy is unable to provide the workers led agenda that say left wing politicians want.
